Colors of Nature

Looking back on the past year I feel gratefull for all the project I was able to teach. But most important and dear to me was sustainable project “Colors of Nature”.

Thanks to the generous support of a grant from the New York Art Council, the CEED (Community Environmental Education and Development) non-profit organization on Long Island presents a series of workshops focused on sustainable arts. Our mission was to cultivate a deep connection between art, nature, and community, fostering an appreciation for eco-friendly practices and the joy of creating with one's hands.

Our workshops prioritize hands-on experiences, allowing participants to directly engage with sustainable art practices. From experimenting with different leaves for eco printing to cultivating an understanding of natural dyes, every participant gains practical insights.

CEED took pride in growing its own indigo and an assortment of flowers used in eco printing. Participants will witness the journey from garden to workshop, establishing a direct connection between the materials they use and the sustainable practices we promote.

Inclusivity is key, and our workshops extend to the younger generation. Children aged 5 to 16 are invited to explore the world of sustainable arts through specially tailored workshops, ensuring that creativity and eco-consciousness are instilled from a young age.

CEED is more than a workshop host; it's a hub for community and environmental education. The Center for Environmental Education & Discovery mission is to connect our community to nature and science with creative use of discovery, art and education.
