Mexican trip

We went to Mexico in January and it was an amazing trip filled with colors, crafts, and great food! Visiting Patzcuaro small town four hours away from Mexico City was a highlight of our trip because we met an amazing community of weavers. They live in the village Angahuan, basically, it’s three families.

Using a traditional back-strap weaving loom they make intricate and colorful scarves and ponchos. This loom is an elegant tool in its simplicity, effectiveness, and portability. They can make really big scarves and store them without taking too much space.

The rebozo has been produced since the colonial period. Traditional rebozos (big scarf, which can be used to carry a baby too)  are white and blue, sometimes blue with black color.
